I just watched the first video in your 4 part series (Our Class, Our Voice) with Matt Miller and enjoyed hearing how engaged your students have become in “class voting”. It made me wonder if this experience will make them more likely to vote in government elections once they reach the age of majority. I think there’s a good chance. Wouldn’t it be interesting to know?

Good day from South Africa.
In my class, the “jobs” include :
a.) sanitizing shoes at the door (yes even after Lockdown, as my class has an ancient carpet – 25 years) ;
b.) Stamping homework with my teacher’s stamp;
c.) distribute daily class activities to the various groups.

I have never used classroom jobs as I have taught high school and now middle school and thought it was too elementary, but after listening to this video I am sold! I will definitely use classroom jobs next year. I love messenger and insurance officer especially for my ADHD kids attendance monitor and even some more tailored to my classroom and daily expectations. Thank you!

I have always liked the idea of student choice and so I really enjoyed watching your videos and gaining new insight on ways to incorporate student choice/student voice in my classroom. I can’t wait to introduce my version of the “pulse checks.” Thanks for making these videos available to educators.
