Google Chrome extensions galore! 50+ for the classroom

Google Chrome extensions can save you time and open up new options in the classroom! Here are 50+ extensions you can check out. (Public domain image via Pixabay.com)

Record a video of your screen. Split the screen of your web browser. Block ads. Keep digital sticky notes. Even make your phone ring to end a conversation that’s gone on too long.

Google Chrome extensions turn your Chrome web browser into a veritable Swiss Army knife of versatile options.

There are thousands of these little apps/programs you can install in your browser from the Chrome Web Store for free. They live in the top right corner of Google Chrome.

Anyone can install Chrome extensions, but at some schools, certain (or all) extensions may be blocked for students.

During a recent #DitchBook Twitter chat, we shared our favorite Google Chrome extensions. We listed more than 50 Chrome extensions for educators and students (even though there may be a bit of duplication).

Find one that will make a difference for you … or try out several of them! Just know that having too many Chrome extensions running at once can slow your web browser down significantly. (And there’s an extension for that … Extensity! More info below!)

(Another way to slow your browser down: having too many tabs open, and there’s an extension for that, too: OneTab! Again, more info coming!)

Is there a Chrome extension you love that didn’t make the list? Please add it in a comment below!
